Jesus Christ, Our Advocate

“… these things I write to you, so that you may not sin. AND IF ANYONE SINS, WE HAVE AN
ADVOCATE WITH THE FATHER, JESUS CHRIST THE RIGHTEOUS. And He Himself is the
propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the whole world.” 1 John 2:1-2.
God, in His infinite mercy and immeasurable love for mankind, does not want anyone to perish,
and in the light of this, He made provision for man to be saved from His imminent wrath upon all
sinners. He knows our nature that we are dust, and that there is no just man on earth who does
good and does not sin. Psalm 103:14. Ecclesiastes 7:20.
